The Renassaince Fair

Join us for a day of revelry and enchantment at our first Sioux Lookout Renaissance Fair, taking place on August 10th, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Town Beach. This immersive event will transport attendees back in time to the splendor of the Renaissance era, where they can experience the magic of knights, jesters, artisans, and more.

Opening
10:00 am

Prayers, Blessing and Drumming

Come to town beach 10 am to start the beginning of the very 1st Annual Sioux Lookout Renaissance Fair with a drumming song and a prayer from a local drummer and knowledge keeper, Victor Lyon.

Side Quest

10:30am - 5:00pm

Collect All the Coins for Prizes

Collect all the gold coins with the Ren Fair logo on it. Certain vendors have the coins, and they can be exchanged for a gift.

Oil Paint Demo

2:00 pm - 4:00pm

Painting Demonstration with Gabrielle Wesley

Gabrielle Wesley is dedicated to creating captivating and inspiring art that resonates with individuals and brings beauty to their surroundings. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creativity. Using acrylics, oils and other media on canvas, Gabrielle will be doing a live painting demonstration. We promise it’s not as boring as watching paint dry.

Kid’s Costume Contest Judging

It's time to show off your cool costumes! Contestants will have about a minute to walk across the stage and show off their costume.

The judges will give each contestant a score from 1 to 10 based on theme and spark, then announce the winner.

Basket Weaving Demo

2:00 pm - 4:00pm

Basket Weaving with Donna

Donna Giles will take fair goers through the process of crafting hand-made baskets using the age old practice of weaving together rattan to create a beautiful basket.

13+ Costume Contest Judging

4:00pm - 5:00pm

Show off you OG Characters

Contestants will have about a minute to walk across the stage and show off their costume.

The three judges will each give scores from 1 to 10 based on the craftsmanship, integrity and fluidity, then announce the finalists (3 or so). The finalists will have a bit more time to show off their characters and costumes and then the winner will announced.
